About Peking Gardens

Peking Gardens is the kind of Chinese restaurant that works well when you want something flavorful, filling, and easy to enjoy. Located at 1127 E Main St, Bridgeport, CT 06608, this local spot serves a wide variety of Chinese dishes that fit both quick lunches and relaxed dinners. The menu keeps things familiar, which is part of the charm. You can stop in craving noodles, chicken, pork, beef, or vegetables and still find something that sounds right.

One of the first dishes many guests notice is the Roast Pork Lo Mein. It is simple, hearty, and packed with that classic savory flavor people often look for in a Chinese takeout-style meal. The noodles are soft and satisfying, while the roast pork adds a rich bite that makes the dish feel complete. Chicken Lo Mein is another easy favorite, especially for diners who want something mild, comforting, and filling without being too heavy.

For those who like a little more kick, Kung Pao Chicken is a strong choice. It brings together tender chicken, vegetables, and a bold sauce with a slightly spicy edge. It is flavorful without feeling too complicated, making it a reliable option for anyone who enjoys a balanced mix of heat and savory taste. Meanwhile, Beef with Mixed Vegetables is a good pick when you want something warm, saucy, and packed with texture. The beef gives the dish a hearty feel, while the vegetables help keep every bite fresh.

The nice thing about Peking Gardens is that the menu has something for different appetites. Some diners may come in for a quick plate during the day, while others may order several dishes to share for dinner. Either way, the food leans toward generous, familiar Chinese comfort meals that are easy to pair with rice, noodles, or classic sides.

The atmosphere is friendly and casual, so it feels approachable whether you are grabbing food on a busy day or planning a simple meal with family. It is not trying to be overly fancy, and that works in its favor. Peking Gardens focuses on the dishes people already love: lo mein, chicken plates, pork specials, beef entrées, and vegetable-based options that bring dependable flavor.

For anyone around Bridgeport looking for Chinese cuisine with familiar menu choices and a relaxed local feel, Peking Gardens is a convenient place to keep in mind. Its location on East Main Street makes it easy to visit, and the menu gives plenty of reasons to come back when the craving for hot, savory Chinese food hits.

“ This is the spot to hit whenever you are in BPT! -Yes it's a whole in the wall -Yes it's in the ghetto -Yes it does not look that fancy -Yes they got nicer spots in CT -Yes, yes, yes, yes... But Peking Gardens or as we call it Michelle's - for the simple reason that back in the days a girl used to work here called Michelle's, and that's why we say "Let's goto Michelle's - is the place to go for all of us that lived on Jane Street in '98 till present. This little spot with great Chinese food has been visited by people from all over the States (CA, TX, WA, DC, IL, AZ, NV etc.) folks from Mexico, Holland, and the UK have tasted there items. This place will not disappoint you I guarantee! From their Chicken Wings to the Pu Pu Plater, the Plantains to the Shrimp Fried Rice, the Sweet and Sour Chicken to the Egg roll I know you will find your favorite meal here in the middle of East Main, BPT My dish is the boneless ribs w/ pork fries rice, or the garlic chicken wings... just come down and try it for yourself. ”

“ OMG! This is my chinese resteraunt. If I want chinese... I go here. The menu is taped onto my fridge, lol. The food isn't expensive, very generous portions, and I've never recieved a bad dish. It's not in the bad part of town, we don't live in the 'ghetto', it's on a rican street mixed with jamaicans, asians, and the brazilians, with maybe a portuguese person sprinkled here and there. They've updated their menu with skewers, donuts, and they have homemade teas. It's simply mouth watering. :) What can I say, they have to be good, I go there enough times that they know me. The guy manning the register knows a bit of spanish too. ”

“ Okay, after 7 hours in the ER at Bport hospital we were starving so we decided to get some take out on the way home. We weren't familiar with the area, so we just did a search on our phone and found Peking Garden. Once we found the restaurant, my first thought was that the 5 stars must have been a joke. It's in a very scary neighborhood, and you can't (or wouldn't want to) eat there, but the food was fantastic! BEST CHINESE TAKE OUT EVER! We didn't have a menu, when we called in our order, so we stuck with basics, egg rolls, lo mein, chicken & cashews and wonton soup. Everything was chock full of meats and vegis. The soup was a plastic container stuffed with wontons with some broth poured in afterwards. From now on, if we're in BPort, it's our new take out restaurant. ”
